According to public filings, Delightful Deli, Bakery and Sweet Shop will relocate to 3522 Main St., Suite 100A. Delightful is a family-owned concept born out of a desire to make a difference and build a strong sense of community. The business started as a food trailer before growing into a space where people can feel like family and form lasting connections.
What Now Dallas spoke to founder Brooke Rodriguez, who shared that she expects the concept to open by August, pending permits.
According to Rodriguez, the business began as a food trailer with a community-first mission, hosting weekly Free Food Fridays that served upwards of 200 people at no charge. “It was never just about food,” Rodriguez said. “We wanted to provide a space where people come in and feel like family.” The operation remains entirely family-run, with no outside employees.
The new space, she said, is an extension of that philosophy.
Delightful will also serve ice cream sourced from It’s Fate Creamery. Rodriguez noted that all recipes are drawn from her mother’s cooking.
The menu is expected to carry over the concept’s signature offerings, including chicken salad, housemade cinnamon rolls and desserts such as strawberry tres leches cake, Oreo tres leches cake and coconut cream pie. The Rowlett location plans to expand the lineup with paninis, sub sandwiches on daily-baked bread and a new selection of custom drinks.
Rodriguez said the decision to plant roots in Rowlett felt immediate. “When we drove down Main Street in Rowlett, before we even got to our new space, we already knew that was where we were supposed to be. You just feel the community, the beauty of a small town, and we cannot wait to be a part of that.”
