Juanita’s Mexican Restaurant has officially said its final goodbye to the dining community across the T.C. Jester Boulevard. The Houston-based Tex-Mex staple has made this move after completing over 25 years of operations.
Juanita’s Mexican Restaurant Closes Permanently
In a recent Instagram post, the food establishment said that it has shut its operations for good. The announcement prompted reactions from longtime customers in the comments.
Reflecting on its years in business, the restaurant thanked customers who had supported it since 2000. The post recalled family celebrations, takeout dinners, and everyday meals shared at the restaurant.
Juanita’s Mexican Restaurant also expressed gratitude to the vendors and employees who were a part of its culinary journey.
Patrons visited the Houston location for a range of Tex-Mex dishes. Some of these were Camarones a la Plancha, Filete a la Diabla, and Shrimp Quesadilla. Juanita’s also served Pickle Jalapeño Cotton Candy Margarita, Shrimp Cocktail, and other drink varieties.

Closure Does Not Affect Cypress or Louetta Locations
The restaurant said the closure applies only to its T.C. Jester Boulevard location. The clarification was issued because of the similarity between the two restaurant names.
To avoid the confusion, Juanita’s Mexican Kitchen has issued a statement saying that its locations in Cypress and Louetta are not affiliated or associated with the T.C. Jester location. Angel Nuñez helped launch the T.C. Jester restaurant in 2000 before selling his ownership stake 14 years later. After the ownership change, the T.C. Jester restaurant continued operating independently.

As the restaurant concludes its run in Houston, the city’s dining scene loses a two-decade-plus old Tex-Mex establishment that served its menu through generations.
