The Village, San Antonio’s upcoming women’s social club at 723 S. Flores, is bringing a hospitality-driven culinary programme to the project, with The Newstand duo Page Pressley and Dez Rodriguez set to lead the kitchen when it opens in 2026, according to Culturemap San Antonio.
Pressley and Rodriguez, who also operate The Newstand and The Dispatch, will oversee a full restaurant-style food and beverage offering designed to move away from traditional club buffets and towards a more elevated dining experience.
Pressley brings experience from acclaimed kitchens including Mexico City’s Pujol and Uchiko in Austin, while Rodriguez adds front-of-house expertise shaped by his background as a pediatric speech therapist.
The menu will shift throughout the day, starting with breakfast offerings such as coffee, seasonal juices, and soft scramble with caviar toast. Lunch will feature lighter fare, including a Caesar salad and fries combo dubbed “The Usual,” while evenings will focus on shareable plates, comfort food, cocktails, and mocktails.
The founder and CEO, Laney Cloud, said to the publication mentioned above that she was drawn to the pair’s ability to create a welcoming atmosphere, noting the environment they built at The Newstand inspired the tone she wants for The Village.
Beyond dining, The Village will include coworking spaces, a gym, lounge areas, workshops, a private event hall, and an on-site childcare facility. An adjacent spa, Mimi’s, will also open to the public, offering beauty and wellness services in a home-like setting.
