West Ashley will welcome a new Italian restaurant this summer.

Bad Bambino, owned by husband-and-wife team Joe and Diana Walker, will debut at 1301 Ashley River Rd., according to an Instagram post.

“New kid on the block,” the post read, alongside an exterior photo of the restaurant featuring its red neon signage.

The Walkers have spent the past few years revitalizing the strip center, opening Shift Pilates Body Shop in September 2024, Cafe Roca in early 2025 and The Corner Store last summer, which offers grab-and-go items, The Post and Courier reported.

The new space will offer an intimate, moody ambiance, contrasting with the cafe’s bright, brunch-style atmosphere.

While the menu is still being finalized, Bad Bambino plans to serve classic Italian dishes such as chicken parmesan, Bolognese, alfredo and upstate New York-style pizzas, with chef Will Cammer leading the kitchen.

To complement the menu, the restaurant will feature a beer-and-wine bar with a curated wine program.

An official opening date has not been announced, but the outlet reported the team is targeting an August debut. Stay tuned!
