Dollar Tree is embarking on a West Las Vegas opening. According to a City of Las Vegas permit, the new Dollar Tree is expected to open in Decatur Crossing at 204 S Decatur Blvd.

While there’s no word just yet on when exactly the new Westside Dollar Tree store will open, according to this job announcement, the brand is already beginning the hiring process for the new store. So we suspect the new Dollar Tree should open sometime this year.

What Now Las Vegas reached out to the Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Officer, Jocelyn Konrad, to find out more details about the exciting new addition to Las Vegas’ retail offerings. But, unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.

“At Dollar Tree, our customers can expect to find an environment where shopping is fun. We’re known for our “thrill-of-the-hunt” shopping experience where customers can discover new, exciting items every week, from everyday essentials to fun craft, seasonal, and party merchandise,” the Dollar Tree website reads.

“With additional price points, our expanded range gives us the ability to offer shoppers even more choices, providing a larger variety of quality items at great value. We continue to offer our customers all the products they’ve come to know and love, plus hundreds of new ones, and to bring back customer favorites at an incredible value.”

That incredible value has continued to help the brand grow since its inception. Dollar Tree’s origins trace back to 1953 when K.R. Perry opened a Ben Franklin variety store in Norfolk, Virginia. Founders Doug Perry, Macon Brock, and Ray Compton later launched a fixed-price concept called Only $1.00 in 1986. The first store officially branded as Dollar Tree opened in Sumter, South Carolina, in 1989.

There are now more than 9,300 Dollar Tree stores across 48 US states and seven Canadian provinces. When including its sister brand Family Dollar, the parent company runs a massive network of over 15,115 discount locations in North America. There are currently 69 Dollar Tree stores operating across Nevada, with 42 serving the Las Vegas Valley.

“Many of the items we carry sell for more elsewhere, which means that our customers can stretch their dollars to get the products they need at a great value,” the Dollar Tree website reads.

“We remain fiercely committed to our mission of bringing our great value every day, along with more thrills, more fun & new items every week!”

But, the popular discount variety retailer no longer sits at that fixed, low price point—traditionally $1.25 or less- that it is known for. Even still, the brand remains popular for stocking a “thrill-of-the-hunt” mix of party supplies, seasonal décor, household cleaners, stationery, and affordable pantry staples.

“We have everything you need for every day, every holiday, and every occasion — all at a great value!”
