With a mission to “lead research and development and advance innovation in medical cannabis from seed to sale in order to significantly improve the well being and quality of life of its customers,” GUD Essence is preparing an expansion to a new dispensary in Jacksonville.
“Founded by [a] Miami-based CEO, GŪD Essence was the second Black-owned dispensary in Florida when it opened,” says coverage by the Jacksonville Business Journal, which points out that GUD Essence will be Jacksonville’s first. “GŪD Essence expects to receive its certificate of occupancy soon with plans to open in a 4,000-square-foot former Burger King at 210 E. State St. in late fall.”
The new dispensary will be the “only cannabis store in the downtown overlay from Brooklyn east through the Eastside and north through Springfield.”
“GŪD Essence is bringing modern cannabis wellness to Northeast Florida,” says the GUD Essence website. “Our Jacksonville dispensary in the heart of downtown will offer quality, culture, and compassionate care.”
GUD Essence’s business model puts research and development at the forefront, the site says:
“GŪD Essence has partnered with medical experts conducting cannabis research focused on cancer, sickle cell disease, and conditions disproportionately affecting Black populations. The organization aims to drive clinical breakthroughs and enhance treatment efficacy for serious medical conditions using CBD and medical cannabis.”
