Chef Rochelle Daniel is preparing to open two new concepts at 101 N. Leroux St. in downtown Flagstaff, according to the Phoenix Business Journal. Pompette, a French-inspired restaurant and bakery, and Little Rich Girl, a speakeasy-style cocktail bar, are expected to open in mid-September, Daniel told What Now Phoenix.
The openings mark the next chapter for the two-time James Beard Award semifinalist, who has been planning both concepts for several years.
“I’ve had this date since 2020,” Daniel said. “I planned on opening them up for a while now, but due to COVID and tariffs and all that, I had to wait.”
Daniel said the goal was to create a complete dining experience centered around Atria, her existing restaurant, with each concept serving a different purpose.
“I wanted the restaurants, all three of them, to be a full experience,” she said. “Atria is my fine dining, Pompette will be my restaurant for everybody, and Little Rich Girl will be the place where people can go for a drink before or after they come to either Atria or Pompette.”
Pompette is designed to fill a niche Daniel believes is missing in Flagstaff. The all-day concept will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with an in-house bakery producing fresh pastries each morning as well as breads for the restaurant.
Guests can stop in for a casual lunch, business meeting, or evening meal featuring French-inspired dishes such as steak frites, mussels, tuna tartare, and coq au vin.
The space will also include a mezzanine lounge, traditional dining room, and bar seating, offering guests multiple ways to enjoy the restaurant throughout the day.
Little Rich Girl, meanwhile, will occupy the space beneath Atria, where Daniel plans to pair craft cocktails with an elevated late-night food menu.
“I think the speakeasy is going to be a very cool thing here in Flagstaff because we’re going to serve food late at night,” she said. “So you can have great bites and cocktails.”
Before opening to the public, Daniel said the team plans to host friends-and-family and media preview events, followed by a grand opening celebration featuring special activations, including a martini luge.
