A longtime bakery in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner is preparing to close. Party Favors announced it will close permanently, with its final day of business set for July 15. The owners have committed to fulfill the existing future orders.
Party Favors Announces Its Permanent Closure in Brookline
Party Favors, located at 1356 Beacon St in Brookline announced its closure at the end of June. Owners John and Mary Lynn shared the news with the community that they are ending the journey of 35 years in the community.
John and Mary have run the bakery for more than half of that time. According to Herald News, the bakery’s lease is coming to an end, leading to the closure decision.
John and Mary also shared that customers who have placed future orders with the bakery will be contacted. The post added, “At this time, it looks like our last day will be July 15. We will be closed Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays until that date.”
In a recent post shared on July 1, the owners announced that the bakery will be closed each day from 2 pm to 3 pm for a staff break and to restock. The change follows an increase in walk-in customers and custom orders after the closure announcement.

Party Favors has long supplied cakes and baked goods for birthdays, weddings, graduations, and other celebrations in Brookline. The bakery is known for its custom cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pastries, and other baked goods.
The announcement prompted an outpouring of appreciation from longtime customers across social media. The owners thanked the community for making the bakery an important part of their lives and milestones.
One of the loyal customers shared, “I am deeply saddened by this news. All our cakes and many of our desserts came from PF. I won’t be able to drive in that area without remembering 35 years of celebrations featuring Party Favors treats. We were so lucky.” Others thanked the bakery for its years of service and wished the owners and staff well as they prepare to close.
