Hopdoddy Burger Bar is going through some changes, but the brand is still ready to produce and serve the beloved beer and burgers it’s known for. Hopdoddy Burger Bar was recently acquired by Founders Table Restaurant Group, according to the Houston Business Journal.

“Founders Table Restaurant Group launched in January 2020 to create, acquire, and cultivate innovative and profitable founder-led restaurant companies,” the Founders Table Restaurant Group website reads.

“Founders Table, which currently includes Chopt, Dos Toros, Protein Bar & Kitchen, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, FIELDTRIP, and Sweet Chick, leans on digital and operational innovation to drive the growth of industry-leading culinary concepts. ”

The no-cash deal was finalized late last month, according to Hopdoddy’s former CEO and president, Jeff Chandler. It was said to be a strategic stock merger with no cash involved. Not much has changed; the company will remain headquartered in Austin, Chandler will remain on board, but not as the president, as a member of the board of advisors.

The new Hopdoddy Burger Bar president is now Kenny Jett, who’s been with the brand since 2018. What Now Houston reached out to Jett to find out more details about the brand’s ownership changes and more. But, unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.

“Today, I’m proud to share that I’m transitioning from my role as CEO and President and moving into a Board advisory role following the successful completion of our recent transaction. Just as importantly, I’m excited to pass the torch to Kenny Jett as President,” a LinkedIn post from Chandler reads.

“Kenny has been a key part of Hopdoddy’s growth story for years, helping build our operations, leadership team, and culture. He understands this business, our people, and what makes Hopdoddy Burger Bar special.”

Founders Table was launched in 2020 in partnership with L Catterton and was built to acquire and cultivate profitable restaurants. It appears that’s exactly what the hospitality group is doing.

No big changes around the menu and no new locations have been announced just yet. But keep your ears perked and your eyes open for the latest.

Hoppdoddy Burger Bar is now under the management of the Founders Table Restaurant Group, and Kenny Jett is now the brand’s new president.
