Compton’s Coffee is preparing to open a new location at 359 Grant Avenue in San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood. The coffee house was granted support from the city’s latest round of small business benefits.
The café was one of several recipients selected through the Office of Economic and Workforce Development’s Vacant Storefront Program, which awarded more than $3 million to help small businesses activate empty commercial spaces throughout San Francisco.
According to the city, the funding will help Compton’s Coffee establish a new neighborhood gathering place while contributing to ongoing efforts to revitalize commercial corridors by filling long-vacant storefronts.
The latest funding round supports dozens of new businesses spanning food and beverage, retail, arts and community-serving concepts across multiple neighborhoods. City officials say the program is designed to reduce vacancy rates while supporting local entrepreneurs and creating more vibrant business districts.
Additional details about Compton’s Coffee, including its menu offerings and opening timeline, have not yet been announced.
