Everdine’s Grilled Cheese Co. is closing its Naperville location this week. The closure comes after nearly a decade in Naperville. Customers have shared reactions to the closure on social media.

Everdine’s Grilled Cheese Co. is Closing This Week

Everdine’s Grilled Cheese Co. is a family-owned sandwich restaurant in downtown Naperville. It specializes in gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. The restaurant served gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and other menu items in downtown Naperville.

The restaurant announced that its Naperville location is closing permanently on July 17. The restaurant did not publicly disclose the reason behind the closure. However, the news has left many customers saddened.

Everdine’s opened in 2016 when owners Kelly and Brian were inspired by a backpacking honeymoon. During the trip, grilled cheese became their go-to budget meal. The idea then turned into a restaurant focused on creative, handcrafted grilled cheese combinations.

The post announcing Everdine’s closure reads, “To all of our Everdine’s fans, it hurts my heart to say that we will be closing our doors permanently in Naperville this Friday, July 17th. We are so grateful for all our wonderful customers who stuck by and supported us through this last decade. It has been such a pleasure getting to know so many of you throughout the years. And to our amazing staff, current and past, getting to know you and watching you grow has been one of the greatest joys of having this business.”

The restaurant also confirmed that only the Naperville location is closing this week. Everdine’s Batavia location will remain open, continuing to serve customers.

Everdine’s lasting impact is visible in the community’s reaction to its upcoming closure. Many customers have shared their disappointment on social media. Meanwhile, some customers have also wished a heartfelt farewell to their beloved restaurant.

One customer wrote, “This one hurts…bad. You guys are my place. When people ask me what they must eat DT… Everdine’s is my answer. I came in on opening day…and was hooked. Grilled cheese is my comfort food…your staff was the cheese pull on top…”

Another customer shared, “Come to Wheaton or Carol Stream, downtown Naperville is way too congested anyway!!! I’ll visit you in Batavia”

A customer also wrote, “Truly the best place run by the best people!!!! Downtown Naperville will not be the same without you”

Everdine’s Grilled Cheese Co. is receiving an outpouring of support from customers. This reflects the impression it has made over the past decade on Naperville.
