Wind and Sea Restaurant announced the closure of its Dana Point Harbor location. The historic steak and seafood restaurant will serve its final meal on September 15. The restaurant is well known for its beautiful harbor views and classic California beach cuisine for more than half a century.

Wind and Sea Restaurant Begins Final Countdown

Wind and Sea Restaurant, located at 34699 Golden Lantern in Dana Point Harbor, will close this fall. The restaurant was founded in 1972, and for the past five decades, it has remained focused on serving quality food.

The upscale menu includes perfect combinations from fresh seafood to prime-cut steak, in a relaxed sea breeze and a comforting atmosphere. It is a local favorite destination for dinner with harbor views and sunsets. It offers Southern California specialty dishes like clam chowder, seafood pasta, and calamari steak.

Through a social media post on July 15, the restaurant team confirmed the closure news. The restaurant team shared that after 54 years of service, the restaurant will shut down on September 15, 2026.

“This marks the beginning of our 60-day countdown to our final day,” said the team. Reflecting on the decades-long journey, the team highlighted, “Throughout the years, we have shared countless moments of laughter, love, friendship, community, and of course, the world’s best Mai Tai.”

Legacy of the Waterfront Restaurant

For the last five decades, the restaurant has become more than just a dining spot. Wind and Sea Restaurant is part of the Dana Point Harbor and has served locals and visitors alike.

Founded by Robert Mardian, Wind and Sea originally operated with a limited menu as a prime steakhouse. Over the years, as it gained popularity, it transformed into a premier restaurant.

In the post, the team mentioned, “What began as a restaurant became a place where memories were made, celebrations were shared, and guests became family.”

The restaurant team expressed gratitude to the community and invited them to visit the restaurant in the final days. “We are honored to have been part of your celebrations, your traditions, and your lives,” stated the team.

With the upcoming closure of Wind and Sea Restaurant, Dana Point Harbor will be losing a longtime destination from its dining scene.
