A staple South Austin restaurant is preparing to shut its doors this week. Satellite ATX Restaurant and Bar will serve its last dinner on July 26. The restaurant is known for its Texas-inspired cuisine and American classics.
Satellite ATX Restaurant & Bar Announces Final Week of Service
After two decades of service, Satellite ATX Restaurant and Bar says goodbye to Austin. Located at 5900 W Slaughter Lane in Austin, Satellite ATX Restaurant and Bar has served the South Austin area since 2006.
Known for its outdoor patio, live music, wine selection, and craft cocktails, the restaurant will close this weekend. According to its closure announcement, the restaurant’s final day of service will be Sunday, July 26.
They thanked the community, guests, artists, musicians, and vendors for their support.
“Thank you for allowing us to be part of your family dinners, celebrations, date nights, happy hours, and everyday moments. It has been an honor to serve this community,” said the team.
The team did not provide a reason for the closure but said the decision was difficult. Important updates and information will be posted on its social media.
Satellite ATX’s History in South Austin
Satellite restaurant and bar was founded in 2006 and has been a cherished part of the Circle C South Austin region. Owned by Ben and Kullen, the full-service restaurant serves Texas-inspired cuisine and American classic dishes made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
Over the years, the bar built its reputation with scratch-made entrees and shareable appetizers, along with craft cocktails and local beer.
For its final week of operation, the restaurant team announced, “We plan to remain open during our regular hours through our final service, although hours and menu availability may change during the wind-down period.”
With the closure of Satellite ATX, the Austin community will be losing a perfect location for casual dinner, brunch, and happy hour.
