A community-favorite seafood restaurant bid farewell to the Buda neighborhood. On July 17, the restaurant team announced the closure on social media. The restaurant was one of the most popular Cajun seafood restaurants in the region.

Mud Bugs Announced Closure

The family-owned restaurant, Mud Bugs A Cajun Joint, was known for serving authentic Louisiana-style seafood dishes. In the post, the team shared details about the closure. The team behind the restaurant shared, “While we loved serving Buda and the other great towns around us, the times we are in have led us to this painful result.”

The owner said the team is working to ensure employees receive their final payments. The restaurant team added, “We gave all we had and are keeping our heads held high through this.”

Following the closure announcement, several loyal customers of the restaurant expressed sadness and wrote messages on social media.

One of the customers wrote an emotional note and shared, “A true gem and cornerstone to the entire Buda Main Street scene. So sad for Jeff and his crew for all the tireless work and constant effort they put into making this awesome establishment what it is! Best of luck to the entire Mud Bugs A Cajun Joint crew on the next chapter!”

About the Restaurant

Located at 306 S Main Street, Ste. 107, in Buda, the restaurant featured a rustic dining space with a wooden bar and indoor seating. The menu included popular offerings like seafood boils and Southern classics. Along with the full-service restaurant, the Mud Bugs also offered catering services.

In the post, the restaurant thanked the community, customers, and staff for their support and said, “We are incredibly thankful for the support, friendships, and memories we’ve shared with this amazing community. It has truly been our privilege to serve Buda.”

With the sudden closure of Mud Bugs, the Buda community has lost a cherished gem from its dining scene.
