Velvet Taco will debut in Georgetown in Central Texas with a new restaurant. The new location will open Wednesday, July 29, at Bluebonnet Plaza. Guests can enjoy the brand’s signature, globally inspired tacos, scratch-made menu, and community-focused grand opening celebrations.
Georgetown to Welcome Its First Velvet Taco Location

Velvet Taco‘s first restaurant location in Georgetown and 59th overall will be at 1316 W. University Ave., Suite 103. The restaurant will officially open at 10:30 a.m. on July 29. The opening is expected to bring around 50 new jobs to the city.
As part of the opening celebration, Velvet Taco will introduce the Georgetown Honey Chipotle Chicken taco. It will be served from July 29 to August 4. The special taco is made with crispy chicken tenders, honey chipotle sauce, ranch crema, napa slaw, and avocado on a flour tortilla.
A portion of sales from the specialty taco will support The Georgetown Project, a nonprofit that serves children and youth throughout the community. The first 59 guests who sign up for The Velvet Room rewards program on opening day will receive free tacos for one month.
The team is looking forward to opening up the doors to guests and turning it into a community hotspot for repeat visits, said General Manager Mark Mohammed. “We’ve built a great team here in Georgetown, and everyone is ready to get the doors open.”
