Plans are underway for a Sprouts Farmers Market to open in northwest Raleigh at 6204 Glenwood Avenue, with an opening slated for 2027. The Phoenix-based grocer is making its third foray into the Triangle with this latest venture, as Raleigh Magazine has reported on Instagram.
According to preliminary plans submitted to the City of Raleigh, the project will redevelop part of Pleasant Valley Promenade and will require the demolition of the existing building that formerly housed Starbucks, Spirit Halloween, and several other tenants. The shopping center is home to a mix of national retailers and restaurants, serving surrounding residential neighborhoods and commuters traveling along Glenwood Avenue.
According to the company’s website, Sprouts Farmers Market operates more than 450 stores across the United States, offering a neighborhood grocery experience centered on fresh, healthy foods at affordable prices. In addition to its produce department, shoppers will find a wide selection of natural and organic groceries, grab-and-go meals, specialty products, and wellness items, reflecting the company’s focus on better-for-you shopping.
As for the specifics on construction or an official date for the doors to open, nothing has been put forward yet. Those details should come to light as the city completes its review of the project.
