Located at 4004 Henderson Blvd in Tampa, Streetlight Taco is a smash-hit taco concept offering “Nixtamal For All,” with tortillas made from stone-ground heirloom Mexican corn.

“Mexico: Its culture, food and people amaze from state to state, town to town,” says the Streetlight Taco website. “Smiling faces share food, knowledge and stories around each corner. We soak it in and enjoy the moment just as any opportunity that life provides. Our menu is carefully planned from travels to the states of Mexico, Puebla, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Morelos & Tlaxcala. We diligently learn from experience, friends and family.”

Now, Streetlight Taco is preparing to open a second location, this time in Clearwater.

“The Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognized concept is opening its second location—and its first beyond Tampa—inside downtown Clearwater’s newly restored Peoples Bank Building,” says an Instagram post by the Cleveland Street Alliance. “The pairing brings Streetlight Taco’s vibrant Mexican bodega energy to Cleveland Street as the historic landmark begins its next chapter.”

This announcement comes right on the heels of the news that Tastes Pretty Good Hospitality, the restaurant group behind Streetlight Taco (plus restaurants like Rocca and Bar Terroir), is planning to open a new American-style restaurant called Rippers in Clearwater’s Telephone Building. Together, these two new openings will solidify the company’s presence in Clearwater.

“We are honored and excited to share Streetlight Taco with Tampa,” the site continues. “We travel the biggest cities, busiest markets and dustiest country roads with the same conclusion every time… We love Mexico. No doubt about it.”
