There is exciting movement on the Maryland chicken scene. Sardi’s Peruvian Chicken is nearing the opening of its long-anticipated Annapolis location, a development certain to inspire delight in area poultry enthusiasts.
Sardi’s will be welcoming customers at 153 Defense Highway, in a 2,332-square-foot building that previously housed a Wendy’s. The chicken restaurant has begun hiring staff in preparation for its upcoming opening. Sardi’s has not yet publicly announced an opening date for its Annapolis location, however Sardi’s Hospitality Group CEO Philip Sardelis was kind enough to confirm to What Now DC that the restaurant will be opening before the end of August.
The concept has been in development for quite awhile, building excitement and anticipation in area fans; Sardi’s purchased the former Wendy’s in 2024.
Sardi’s has 18 locations open and operational across Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The chain has enjoyed considerable success thanks to its delicious cuisine, which the website describes saying: “Sardi’s food is crafted from only the freshest, local ingredients. Every dish, sauce, side, and salad is prepared with locally sourced ingredients to bring fresh flavor to every bite.”
