Sandy Mart LLC has filed for a liquor license at 13038 NE Sandy Blvd in Portland, taking over the space long known as Lucky B Food Mart and GME Fuels. Owner Tajinder Singh told What Now Portland he is targeting an opening sometime between mid-August and early September, depending on how quickly he can finalize the necessary paperwork.
Singh said the plan is to clean up the space and bring in new stock once the business takes over, including a wider selection of craft beer, wine, and snacks. The new ownership is focused on running a clean store with good prices and reliable service, adding that he plans to be on site regularly to keep an eye on daily operations himself.
The application lists an off-premises license with hours running from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, classified as a convenience store. Singh said he expects those hours to hold once the store opens, calling the extended closing time a deliberate choice to serve customers late into the evening.
The store sits along NE Sandy Blvd in Portland’s Argay Terrace neighborhood, a stretch known for its steady mix of fuel stations, fast food, and small independent shops serving nearby residential streets. The area draws a mix of commuters passing through on Sandy Boulevard and locals running quick errands, making a corner convenience store like this one a steady fixture for the neighborhood.
