Grocerymania, led by owner Dominic Caldwell, has filed for a liquor license at 214 SE Highway 224, Unit A, in Estacada, OR, according to state licensing records. The address has been home to a discount grocery store for years, most recently operating under names like Real Deal Grocery and River Market and Deli, suggesting the new filing marks another change in ownership rather than a brand new retail concept for the space.

The spot has built a reputation locally as a no-frills discount grocery, selling a mix of everyday staples, produce, dairy and frozen foods at lower prices, along with an unusual range of extras that past listings have described as running from balloons to ammunition. Reviews of the space’s earlier incarnations point to a loyal, if small, customer base drawn to the low prices and casual, community feel of the store.

Estacada is a small town along the Clackamas River in rural Clackamas County, roughly 30 miles southeast of Portland, known as a gateway to the Mount Hood National Forest and the surrounding timber country. The town’s grocery options are limited, making a discount store like this one a steady fixture for residents looking for an alternative to larger chains in nearby Sandy or the Portland metro area.
