A New York-style bagel shop is making its Pennsylvania debut as it continues to expand its footprint.

Franchise operator Eric Clark told Whatnow Philadelphia he and his partners plan to open 10 Jeff’s Bagel Run locations.

“It’s a five-year development timeline. From the territory standpoint, it’ll be west of Harrisburg, then stretches east the whole way through to the Delaware River, through Bucks County, north through the Lehigh Valley, and then south to the Maryland border,” he said.

The team is targeting shopping centers and standalone sites with convenient access for customers to stop in regularly, as well as a strong daytime population.

Jeff and Danielle Perera founded the brand in 2019 in Winter Garden, Florida, as a home-based operation during the pandemic. Jeff began delivering bagels to friends and neighbors before opening the first brick-and-mortar store in Ocoee, Florida, in June 2021.

Clark said he and his team decided to join the Jeff’s Bagel Run brand because of its customer experience, scalability and operational model. They also valued the hands-on guidance and experience they gained from the Pereras throughout the process.

“They have a fantastic team and excellent product. They really built a community brand. It really becomes that local bagel shop by doing everything in-house, scratch-made, made on-site. We love that. It’s that fresh, locally made product. Bringing that to communities around Pennsylvania is what excites me most,” Clark said.

Jeff’s Bagel Run is known for its “always boiled, never toasted” bagels. Flavors include Rosemary Salt, Asiago Everything and Cinnamon Raisin. Guests can choose from more than a dozen house-made spreads such as Plain, Chive & Onion, Banana Pudding, Cake Batter and Roasted Jalapeño.

The shop also serves craft coffee from Otus, flavored cold brews, seasonal lattes like Pumpkin Spice and Banana Bread, house-made lemonades and sweet treats including s’mores bars.

“When we were going through the process and just talking to friends and family in the community, we kept hearing, ‘My town, my community, we need a great bagel shop. We’ve got one that focuses on sandwiches, but really need somebody that’s focused on baking the best bagel,’” he said.

Jeff’s Bagel Run now operates more than 40 locations across Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Pennsylvania will add to the brand’s growing footprint.

The team is finalizing real estate plans and hopes to open its first location by the end of 2026 or early 2027, starting on the western side of the territory before expanding eastward.
