Tavern in the Square is gearing up for a major growth spurt, with several new locations planned across Greater Boston and beyond.

The polished-casual restaurant and bar, which currently operates more than 20 locations throughout New England, has announced plans to open four new Massachusetts restaurants in 2027: in Seekonk in January, Dartmouth in the spring, Norwell in the fall, and Quincy in the winter. The expansion comes on the heels of news that Tavern in the Square is also headed to North Andover, while its existing Burlington location is getting a revamp.

And the growth doesn’t stop there. The restaurant has already mapped out four additional locations for 2028, including restaurants in Danvers, Massachusetts; Newington and Concord, New Hampshire; and Raleigh, North Carolina. The Raleigh restaurant would mark Tavern in the Square’s first location outside of New England.

Part of Broadway Hospitality Group (BHG), Tavern in the Square has become known for its refined yet approachable atmosphere and menu of scratch-made American favorites. At the new locations, diners can expect staples such as burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, bowls, and pastas, alongside craft cocktails and other drinks. The menu shifts with the seasons, with autumn bringing fall-inspired beers, pumpkin cocktails, and other seasonal additions as temperatures begin to dip.

For now, specifics about the upcoming restaurants remain under wraps. Colleen Fleming, Vice President of Marketing at BHG, confirmed the expansion with What Now Boston, noting that none of the upcoming Boston area locations have broken ground yet, so additional information is not currently available.

BHG CEO Stephen DeSousa is expected to share more details as the projects move further along, including additional information about the individual locations and their anticipated opening timelines.
