An indoor soccer facility in Jacksonville’s Rail Yard District is getting a new name and a fresh direction under new ownership.

Bold City Soccer Academy has acquired Love’s Soccer Club, located off Myrtle Avenue. The facility will be rebranded as Turf House Jax and become part of the Bold City Soccer umbrella.

The space will serve as a practice facility for Bold City Soccer while remaining available to the wider community. Plans include field rentals, pickup games and youth and adult training programs.

The facility will continue hosting public pickup soccer nights, while other youth programs will also be able to use the space.

President of Bold City Soccer Club Brian Flinchum said it was previously an indoor soccer facility for adults and will be remodeling the entire facility. “It will still be used by adults for soccer when they’re done, but it’s going to have a cleaner, more wholesome family feel and also have a lot more youth soccer options at the facility as well.”

Renovations are planned to give the facility a more neutral look and create a more family-friendly environment. The new owners are also exploring food and beverage offerings for the space.

“We’ll be adding a performance training gym on the side of it that will be used to train high level soccer athletes that are either currently pro or trying to go pro. There was no food or beverage in there before, and we’ll be adding a cafe in there with beer, wine, coffee, and light food options,” he said.

Flinchum said they’ve removed everything out of the facility, and are in the process of painting the interior and exterior. “It’ll all be done hopefully, our goal is to reopen on Halloween, so October 31. We’re obtaining the necessary permits to do a few things including putting in the restaurant,” he added.
