A taste of the big apple is coming to Metro Detroit this year.

NYC Bagels & Bowls is a new breakfast spot coming to 34635 Grand River Avenue in Farmington. The team has been teasing their new location online, and will soon put signage in front of the business. Owner Ranjith Vallurupaulli told What Now Detroit right now he is hoping to open around Sept. 15.

While the bagels and fresh bowls will be the restaurant’s specialty, those stopping in can also expect coffees and teas for drink options. Rice bowls with proteins like chicken and lamb will be one of the main items, and a full menu will be released soon.

“Fresh bagels, bold shmears, buttery croissants, specialty coffee, chai and NYC-style street bowls–all under one modern cafe experience,” says the description on their website.

The bagel spot will serve the community on the south side of Grand River Avenue, next to Brunchy’s Chicken and Pizza. This is next to a plaza off of Whittaker Drive which includes Thai Princess, Namaste Flavors and a Dominos Pizza. Downtown Farmington is a short drive east of the address.

Right now, the former Joe’s Coney Island space is under construction. Krishma said he will be releasing a more firm opening date in the next few weeks.
