Fuku is making its Palm Beach County debut official and celebrating in true Fuku fashion. On Thursday, Aug. 20, the chef-driven fried chicken concept, born out of David Chang’s Momofuku family of restaurants, will take over CityPlace for a grand opening celebration packed with exclusive giveaways, limited-time collaborations, interactive experiences and plenty of surprises. The milestone marks Fuku’s first Palm Beach County restaurant and second standalone South Florida location. The all-day festivities will run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Fuku is putting its own spin on the traditional grand opening, pairing an official ribbon cutting with the playful experiences, unexpected moments and special surprises the brand is known for, all while celebrating the local community that has already shown up in full force during the restaurant’s first month in West Palm Beach.
Adding a distinctly local flavor to the experience, Fuku has partnered with West Palm Beach favorite Aioli to create an exclusive dessert available only at CityPlace. Developed by Fuku Chef Jimmy Lee alongside Aioli founders Michael and Melanie Hackman, the Fuku x Aioli Sesame Blondie combines rich, buttery flavors with toasted sesame, offering guests a sweet finish to Fuku’s bold, savory menu.
The grand opening celebration will feature:
- The “First 77” giveaway, a nod to Fuku’s lucky number, will gift the first 77 guests through the doors with exclusive swag, followed by additional fuku merch giveaways through 1 p.m.
- An official ribbon cutting begins at approximately 1 p.m.
- Free fries with any purchase from 1 to 3 p.m., along with polaroid photo moments for guests.
- Surprise-and-delight moments throughout the day, including special treats, menu samplings, merchandise giveaways and other unexpected perks for guests.
“We’ve been incredibly grateful for the warm welcome from the West Palm Beach community since opening our doors,” said Claudia Lezcano, CEO of Fuku in a statement. “Our grand opening is our opportunity to celebrate alongside our guests, our local partners and the CityPlace community while showcasing everything that makes Fuku more than just a fried chicken restaurant.”
Located at 407 S. Rosemary Ave., Fuku joins CityPlace’s growing collection of nationally recognized dining destinations, bringing David Chang’s signature chef-driven approach to fast casual dining to the heart of downtown West Palm Beach.
“Fuku has brought an incredible energy to CityPlace, and we’re thrilled to officially celebrate its arrival in West Palm Beach,” said Kenneth A. Himmel, President, at Related Ross. “Concepts like Fuku add to the personality of the neighborhood, creating new reasons for our community to come together and making CityPlace an even more exciting place to dine, gather and discover something new.”
Guests will experience the full Fuku menu, built around hand-breaded chicken prepared fresh throughout the day. Signature favorites include the OG Sando, Sweet & Spicy Sando, Miso Ranch & Slaw Sando and Chicken Burger, along with crispy tenders, Party Fries, Chicken Garlic Rice, fresh salads and house-made sides. The West Palm Beach restaurant also features two CityPlace exclusives: the Chicken Rice Bowl, made with crispy brined chicken, ginger garlic rice, cabbage, pickled red onion, furikake and Fuku mayo; and the Transfusion Slushie, a refreshing blend of grape and lime juices with a kick of fresh ginger.
Designed with Fuku’s signature urban aesthetic and playful peach-inspired interiors, the 1,617-square-foot restaurant offers dine-in, takeout and delivery in one of South Florida’s fastest-growing dining destinations.
Fuku is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight. For more information, visit eatfuku.com and follow on Instagram at @fuku.
