After two years of serving Middle Tennessee from a food truck, Bake n’ Soda is preparing to put down permanent roots, it announced on social media. The upcoming brick-and-mortar for the business, at 901 S. Main St. in downtown Springfield, will carry its signature gourmet dirty sodas, floats and fresh-baked treats while also adding expanded offerings.
Owner and operator Kodie Cash is currently overseeing the build-out with GS Moore & Son and recently hired artist Carly Keith Rager to complete some murals on the property. She is in the process of hiring efforts and is targeting an October 2026 opening, she confirmed to What Now Nashville.
Bake n’ Soda began as a food truck in 2024, initially operating from the Lowe’s parking lot in Springfield. Cash actually spotted the exact storefront on Main St. not long after launching the truck operations, and always dreamed that she could open the business in the space eventually.
“The food truck was always meant to be the first step. I wanted to learn what products people loved, what locations worked, how to run the business and whether there was actually an audience for what I wanted to create before taking on the risk of a permanent location,” Cash shared. “And somehow, about two and a half years later, my dream is on that building.”
The brick-and-mortar will maintain the core products that helped establish Bake n’ Soda, including gourmet dirty sodas, floats and scratch-made desserts, while adding a larger food menu with items like sandwiches, salads, breakfast, smoothies and other offerings. Lavender Moon Bakery will provide the restaurant’s bread and bagels, while Cash plans to work with local farmers like Heads Farm for ingredients when possible.
Bake n’ Soda Kitchen will operate as a quick-service restaurant, with customers ordering at the counter and food brought to the table for those dining in. The space will feature dine-in seating, a back patio, and a smaller front patio area for warmer months.
Hours are initially expected to run Thursday through Monday, primarily during the daytime, with planned hours of approximately 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cash hopes to eventually expand the schedule once the business gets fully up and running.
“I genuinely love this community and am incredibly grateful for the support it has shown Bake n’ Soda. Seeing people get excited about the storefront has meant more to me than I can put into words,” Cash shared.
“Bake n’ Soda started as a little idea in a parking lot, and this community took a chance on me. Now I get to build a permanent space here, and I truly can’t wait to open the doors and welcome everyone in. I’m so grateful to everyone who has believed in this dream and helped it grow.”
