Sprouts’ upcoming Dumfries location is in bloom. Construction is well underway on the beloved farmer’s market’s new home, located in the Fortuna Plaza shopping center.

The Potomac District social media page posted a video showing the progress occurring at the  4174 Fortuna Center Plaza storefront that previously housed Shoppers Food Warehouse. While it is evident that a great deal of work has already been done, it is equally clear that a great deal remains to be completed.

Sprouts does not yet have an opening date set for this, its fifth Virginia location, however it is anticipating being ready to welcome customers at some point in 2027.

Sprouts public relations manager Mychael Ramirez previously spoke to the Prince Williams Times about bringing the beloved chain to Dumfries, saying: “Sprouts is excited to bring our wide selection of fresh, local and better-for-you products to the Dumfries community as we continue to grow in Virginia.”

Founded in Arizona in 2002, Sprouts has proven itself to be a heavy-hitter on the grocery scene, thanks to its commitment to offering the “ very best parts of a real farmers market under one roof, open every day of the week.”
