Rockville fashionistas, mark your calendars for a closet refresh. Nordstrom Rack, “where style meets savings” has set a date for its opening in Congressional Plaza, and it will be ready before the year is out, according to Store Reporter.

The store is presently under construction in the storefront that previously housed Buy Buy Baby in the 1683 Rockville Pike shopping center. Nordstrom Rack very recently posted job listings for nearly every position at the new store front ahead of its opening. The precise date of the opening is, of course, the question on local shoppers’ minds, and now they have a date to circle on their calendars. Nordstrom Rack will begin welcoming customers into its new 26,000 square foot Rockville home on October 29.

Nordstrom Rack is not totally new to the area, with another location on Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg.

Founded in 1973, Nordstrom Rack-the sister brand to Nordstrom-offers shoppers more cost-effective options. The concept has proven popular and has spread to include over 300 locations across the country.
