Grocery giant Publix is making its way to Frederick County. The beloved market is signed onto open as the anchor store for the upcoming Sherando Green retail center planned for Stephens City.
The development will be located at the southwest corner of Fairfax Pike and Warrior Drive. Publix is set to occupy a sprawling 50,800 square foot storefront, allowing shoppers plenty of space to browse its wares.
Locals may need to exercise some patience in anticipation of the grocery store’s arrival; while Publix has not announced an estimated opening date yet, it does project that construction will not wrap until Q3 of 2027.
Publix is, so far, the only tenant announced for Sherando Green, however the presence of such a well-loved and recognized chain is likely to draw in plenty of interested retail concepts. Leasing documents for the development describe it as “is the newest grocery-anchored retail project in the greater Winchester, VA market, and will be the everyday shopping destination for the Stephens City/Front Royal/Middletown trade area.”
