The Vegan Joint closed its three of its Los Angeles-area locations this month after two decades in the business.

The owner, Rattana Hnoi, explained the situation through a Facebook post. The rising costs, a lease situation, and ongoing debt led to this decision. She was originally going to close one location but finally decided to close all three locations.

The Vegan Joint was popular for its Thai-inspired, plant-based comfort food. The menu included vegan pad Thai, plant-based curries, Kra Pow Burgers, and more.

Closing Date: August 31

The Belmont

The Belmont announced its closure after 26 years in Los Angeles. The restaurant and bar was known for its American and New American menu and late-night atmosphere. The owner did not share the reason behind the decision but thanked the community for the years together.

Its closure message read, “Dear Family. After 26 years in business, The Belmont will be closing its doors at the end of the month. But not without a last hurrah…” Following the news, the restaurant held several events and updated its operating hours before leaving the neighborhood.

Its menu offered ahi poke salad, ahi tuna tacos, chicken wings, and other pub classics. Further information on The Belmont’s closure is available.

Together, the closures mark several changes for Los Angeles’ dining and nightlife scene this August.
