A new kava bar is preparing to open inside the Orlando Regional Medical Center campus, offering a “true non-alcoholic experience with a great vibe and atmosphere.”
Plan review paperwork submitted by Planet Kava LLC shows the new kava bar by that name—Planet Kava—opening at 1214 Kuhl Ave; the cafe’s website confirms the address.
In addition to its kava offerings, Planet Kava will offer kratom drinks, coffee, herbal teas, and fresh juices. If you’re feeling like munching on something, expect to find a few finger foods too:
“Additional to our drinks we offer a wide range of finger food,” says the Planet Kava website. “Not complete meals but nice and tasteful products that support the vibe in our place.”
What Is Kava? begins a section on the Planet Kava website, offering the following info about the non-alcoholic beverage that has been exploding in popularity in recent years, as more and more consumers cut down on alcohol:
“Kava (Piper methysticum) is a South Pacific plant root used to create a non-alcoholic beverage known for promoting relaxation, social interaction, and mild euphoria without affecting mental clarity. It is widely used for reducing anxiety, insomnia, and stress. Common forms include traditional tea, tinctures, and powder, with active compounds called kavalactones.”
