Michael Kors is preparing to open a new outlet store at The Outlets at Orange, adding another major fashion retailer to the Orange County shopping center. Simon, the property owner and operator, currently lists Michael Kors Outlet among the center’s brands and identifies the retailer as one of the stores headed to the property.
The new store will join more than 110 retailers at The Outlets at Orange, an open-air shopping center located at 20 City Blvd. W. in Orange. Simon’s current property information identifies Michael Kors Outlet as a forthcoming addition, while the center’s store directory also lists Michael Kors among its retail brands.
Michael Kors is an American fashion company offering apparel, handbags, footwear, accessories and other fashion products. Its outlet stores generally carry merchandise from the brand’s fashion and accessories categories, although specific product assortments can vary by location.
The Orange opening is part of a larger redevelopment effort at The Outlets at Orange. Simon announced a multi-million-dollar revitalization project for the center that will include upgraded flooring, new seating areas, enhanced landscaping, refreshed signage, additional shade structures and updated lighting. The project also calls for redesigned common areas, improved entrances, a repainted exterior and a new green space.
Michael Kors will be joined by Coach as one of the center’s new marquee retail additions. According to Simon, the Coach project will include a Coach Coffee Shop with a patio. The center has also recently added retailers including Barnes & Noble, Vans and Skechers in the former Skatepark space.
Simon has not announced a specific opening date for Michael Kors. The company’s website currently describes the retailer as “Headed Your Way,” indicating that the store remains forthcoming. The shopping center is expected to remain open while the broader improvements are completed.
