A new Crunch Fitness location is planned for Hemet at 859 W Florida Ave, bringing the national fitness brand to a 43,867-square-foot building. According to construction project documents, the property is slated for a substantial tenant improvement to transform the space into the gym facility.
Extensive work is needed throughout the property, including exterior facade improvements, demolition, concrete and masonry work, metal fabrication, millwork, roofing, doors, storefront and glazing work, as well as interior finishes. The anticipated occupancy is listed as 794 people.
J Plus Architects is listed on the project documents as the architect. Dave Saarem, P.E. is identified as the MEP engineer, while Response Structural Engineers is listed as the structural engineer. The franchisee for the upcoming spot is identified as Fitness Ventures, LLC.
Fitness Ventures is the largest franchise operator in the Crunch Fitness system. Its website states that it operates 118 Crunch locations across 30 states and serves close to 1 million members, launching about a dozen new gyms a year.
Founded in 2016, Fitness Ventures began with the launch of two Crunch Fitness locations and initially focused on growth in the South and Midwest before accelerating through expansion and acquisitions across the country over the last few years.
Crunch’s official Hemet webpage currently lists the location as “Club Coming Soon.” The company did not respond to requests for comment.
