A new Japanese restaurant is on the way to Mississauga. Japanese Fish Market is taking a ground-floor retail space at the Exchange District in Mississauga. Signage is up in the space at 4031 The Exchange, according to Insauga.

The new concept will offer a sushi and sake bar, according to the restaurant’s Instagram page.

EDO Restaurants is behind Japanese Fish Market, according to Insauga. The restaurant group is behind Toronto restaurant EDO, founded by Barry Chaim in 1986.

EDO aims to serve authentic Japanese cuisine, “preserving the Japanese culinary Washoku tradition and blend with contemporary and unique Japanese approaches of western cooking called Seiyo-Ryori or Nikke,” according to the website.

EDO offers a variety of sushi options as well as poke, sushi burritos, sushi pizza and tempura. EDO also offers sushi classes and retail offerings, such as sauces.

As of now, the opening timeline for Japanese Fish Market has not been announced. Menu and design details have not been revealed at this time.

The Exchange District will feature more than 2 million square feet of retail, dining, office and commercial space.
