With 9 locations open in Central Florida, Orlando-born Colombian specialty coffee and bakery franchise Mecatos Bakery & Cafe is preparing to expand with a new location on West Vine Street in Kissimmee this winter.

Opening at 504 W Vine St, the menu will include classic hot and cold coffee drinks, plus lots of baked goods, ranging from cakes to empanadas, to a variety of other pastries. On the savory side, you’ll find favorites like the Arepa Mecatos (Delicious Large fried Arepa stuffed with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, ham, beef, chicken and topped with a fried egg…Must Try!). You’ll also find Guava & Cheese pastries and desserts like tiramisu and guava cheesecake.

“Mecatos Cafe in Orlando creates an inviting environment where a great cup of coffee can be accompanied by delicious Colombian based baked foods, hot bites and desserts,” says the Mecatos website’s About Us page. “We aim to bring delicious and highly sought after pastries, baked and fried foods typical of Colombia, and other Latin American countries to a relaxed, modern and sleek setting. Combined with one our exquisite coffee drinks, hot chocolate or fruit smoothies, our goal is to create a brand recognized for its dedication to provide our customers with a unique experience every single time they try an item on our menu.”

At the Vine Street location, Mecatos will take over a building formerly occupied by Hardee’s, joining restaurants like Franco, Picanha Steak House, and Friendly’s Brooklyn Style Pizza.
