A modern Californian cuisine restaurant has announced its closure. Oso Sonoma will permanently shut down its operations next week, after serving the community for 12 years. The restaurant owners shared the closure announcement on social media.

Oso Sonoma to Serve Its Last Meal Next Week

Owned and operated by California-based executive chef David Bush, Oso is preparing to permanently close its doors. Located at 9 E Napa Street in Sonoma, California, it will serve its final meal on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

The restaurant has built a strong following in the community with its modern Californian cuisine and elegant dining experience. It offers a casual and relaxed atmosphere with a constantly evolving menu and full-service bar.

With a social media announcement, the restaurant team shared the heartbreaking news of its closure.

The team mentioned that it was not an easy decision. They explained that the restaurant building requires “significant infrastructural improvements that go beyond what we’re able to take on in order to keep running a restaurant in this space.”

In the post, the team encouraged the community to visit the restaurant and enjoy one more meal before its closure.

“We’d love to see you one more time, so come raise a glass with us before September 26th,” read the post.

Thank you for twelve years of packed tables, celebrated birthdays, first dates, regulars who became family, and every single time you chose to spend an evening with us.”

The restaurant also acknowledged that Oso was built on their love and support, and it will always carry it with them.

Several customers and community members expressed their disappointment following the closure announcement.

One customer wrote, “This is sad. What a great restaurant and great food. You will be missed!”
