Pizzeria Toro, the Durham-based wood-fired pizzeria, is expanding to Raleigh with a new restaurant at 807 Halifax St. in Seaboard Station. The restaurant is targeting a fall 2026 opening, according to an Instagram post highlighting the upcoming Raleigh location.
Founded in Durham, Pizzeria Toro describes itself as a wood-fired pizza restaurant serving seasonal snacks and operating a neighborhood bar. According to the company’s website, its menu features pizzas, salads, small plates, desserts, and Italian-inspired drinks. Current menu offerings include Buffalo Mozzarella with San Marzano tomato and basil, Old School Pepperoni, Tuscan Kale, ricotta dumplings, house cannoli, and fried-to-order zeppole.
According to The Raleigh News & Observer, the Raleigh restaurant is expected to bring the Toro approach to a new market while allowing the menu to change with ingredients available from Triangle farmers. The Raleigh location will not simply duplicate the Durham menu, with seasonal items expected to rotate between the two restaurants.
The new location will share space with The Common Market at Seaboard Station. Pizzeria Toro currently operates its original Durham restaurant and will make Raleigh its second location. The restaurant is led by chef and owner Gray Brooks, according to the publication.
