After 20 years of service, a beloved Franklin sports bar, Tin Roof 2, will close its doors. The closure follows a dispute with the Franklin Police Department and a recent Beer Board hearing.
Longtime Franklin Bar, Tin Roof 2 Set to Close
A community-favorite, casual sports bar and restaurant, The Tin Roof 2 has announced its permanent closure with a social media post. The bar is well-known for its laid-back environment and regular entertainment nights. Its entertainment schedule includes Trivia Tuesday, Bingo Wednesday and Karaoke Thursday, along with live music and DJs on weekends.
The menu includes pizzadillas, a combination of pizza and quesadilla, along with build-your-own nachos.
The Tin Roof 2 will officially close its doors on October 9. In the closure announcement post, the team shared that the bar and restaurant have served the Franklin community for 20 years and have become a cherished part of it.
The team thanked the community and said, “To every person who has walked through these doors, sat at our bar, sang on our stage, worked a shift, danced on the patio, watched a game with us, or simply called this place yours — thank you.”
They also encouraged the community to visit the bar before its final farewell next month. “So come see us. Come tell the old stories. Come make a few more,” said the team.

Tin Roof 2 Faces Beer Permit Suspension
According to the WKRN news report, on September 18, the Franklin Beer Board conducted a hearing on The Tin Roof 2.
Following the hearing, the Beer Board approved a three-week suspension of the bar’s beer permit, effective October 10, and imposed a $2,500 fine.
The hearing was conducted after an undercover operation by the Franklin Police. The department reported that the bar was overserving intoxicated customers, which is a violation of the city municipal code. During the hearing, the officers also stated that the police were called 95 times to the bar in the past year, from August l, 2025 to August l, 2026.
In that same timeframe, August l, 2025 to August l, 2026, five offense incident reports have been generated that involved Tin Roof 2. These offenses include Assault, Public Intoxication, Theft of Property, and multiple Violation of Alcoholic Beverage Laws offenses, according to the Beer Board.
In its defense, the bar owner also alleged harassment by the Franklin Police Department. The business claimed that due to the harassment and constant targeting by the police department, it had decided to close permanently.
