Popular and authentic Thai restaurant Chao Baan announced its permanent closure. The restaurant served its final meal September 20, 2026, after seven years in business. Its menu featured regional Thai dishes including beef nam tok, khao tod nam sod, mieng kham and gaeng som.
Chao Baan Shuts Its St. Louis Location
Located at 4087 Chouteau Ave #5, St. Louis, Missouri, Chao Baan had a strong following in the community for its authentic, flavorful Thai cuisine. Its menu brought together dishes from Thailand’s northeastern Esaan and southern Pak Tai regions.
The restaurant announced the closure in an Instagram post. The team wrote, “What began as a dream to share our family’s regional Thai cooking became something even more meaningful: a place to gather, try something new, and share around the table.”
The restaurant also thanked its guests, employees, chefs and friends for their support and added, “To every guest, team member, chef and friend who became part of Chao Baan: thank you. It has been an honor to cook for you.”
