Raleigh Iron Works could soon welcome a new entertainment destination. Punch Bowl Social has filed a building according to reporting from The News & Observer. The proposed project would bring the national eatertainment brand to North Carolina for the first time at 2221 Iron Works Drive, Suite 90.
The approximately 23,000-square-foot space became available after Jaguar Bolera abruptly closed in March, less than two years after opening at Raleigh Iron Works. The publication reported that Punch Bowl Social’s permit calls for renovations to the existing space as the entertainment venue moves toward its next iteration.
According to the permit details reported by The News & Observer, the proposed renovation includes a new bar, additional arcade and game areas, and four garage-style doors along the existing glass exterior. The changes would shift the space away from Jaguar Bolera’s self-service beverage setup while maintaining its large-scale social entertainment format.
According to Punch Bowl Social’s website, the concept combines food and drinks with recreational activities designed for group gatherings. The brand’s locations feature entertainment such as bowling, karaoke, arcade games, and other social games, according to Punch Bowl Social’s business model and its current location offerings.
The Raleigh project also has an interesting connection to the venue’s former occupant. Jaguar Bolera was founded by Robert Thompson, who previously founded Punch Bowl Social. When Jaguar Bolera opened at Raleigh Iron Works in 2024, the venue featured duckpin bowling, darts, foosball, karaoke, a self-pouring beverage wall, and a food program combining Southern and Mexican influences, according to Axios Raleigh.

An opening date has not been announced. The permit filing, however, indicates that work is moving forward for Punch Bowl Social at Raleigh Iron Works, potentially bringing another destination for dining, drinks, games, and group entertainment to the Triangle.
