Pioneer Village has opened in Glendale with a grand opening. The community includes 340 affordable apartments for seniors, families and property staff. The development features 5,800 square feet of indoor community space.
Pioneer Village Opens 340 Affordable Apartments in Glendale
Pioneer Village opened in Glendale. According to the official announcement, the grand opening was held on Tuesday, September 22. National CORE, Linc Housing, the City of Glendale, and their partners attended the event.
The development was built over three and a half years and covers 2.8 acres near the 210 Freeway. the grand opening was held Tuesday, September 22. A pedestrian path also connects the property to nearby Fremont Park.
Pioneer Village includes 92 homes for low-income seniors ages 62 and older, 245 homes for families, and three apartments for property staff. It has homes for households earning between 30% and 80% of the area median income. More than 7,500 applications were submitted for the new apartments.
HavenCORE, National CORE’s property management division, will manage the community. The project was developed through a partnership involving the City of Glendale, Glendale Housing Authority, CalHFA, Bank of America, National CORE, and Linc Housing.

Community Amenities
The development has more than 5,800 square feet of indoor community space. This includes community rooms, kitchens, computer labs, and a gym. Outdoor amenities include playgrounds, community gardens, courtyards, barbecue and picnic areas, rooftop decks, and a walking path.
Each apartment has air conditioning, electric heating, a patio or balcony, a dishwasher, a microwave, and all-electric appliances. The community also has a two-level underground parking garage with 342 spaces, including 35 electric-vehicle-ready spaces. Pioneer Village is designed to meet LEED Gold standards from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Linc Housing’s Resident Services team will provide programs such as nutrition and exercise classes, social activities, and supportive services. These programs are intended to help residents stay connected and access community resources.
