Toronto’s underground PATH network is getting another spot for breakfast and lunch, with Egg Club preparing to open a new location inside the redesigned MetroCentre Concourse.
The Toronto-born brand is expanding its downtown presence with the new food court location, adding to its existing Union Station outpost at 65 Front St. W. The MetroCentre location will put Egg Club in the heart of the PATH, where it will cater to the steady flow of downtown office workers and commuters.
The upcoming opening comes as the MetroCentre Concourse undergoes a larger redesign and refresh of its food and beverage lineup. According to 6ix Retail, the new Egg Club location is part of that updated tenant mix.
Egg Club has built its concept around made-to-order breakfast and lunch sandwiches served on Japanese milk bread. The company says it spent more than two years developing its signature sandwich, focusing on soft milk bread, freshly cooked folded eggs and its house sauces.
The menu goes beyond a basic breakfast sandwich. Options include the Meat Lovers with smoked sausage, thick-cut bacon and chipotle mayo; the Egg Club with caramelized onion and Swiss cheese; and the Classic with creamy chili sauce and parsley. There are also Bacon & Cheese, Ham & Cheese, BLT, Guacamolic and Chipotle Lobster sandwiches, along with breakfast bowls and sides such as hash browns.
Egg Club has also been leaning into more accessible grab-and-go options as it continues to grow. The brand recently introduced a wrap and lower-priced menu options, including a $4.99 Classic offering, according to 6ix Retail.
The new MetroCentre location will be the brand’s second location within Toronto’s PATH network. Its Union Station restaurant, located on the B2 level, operates seven days a week and serves breakfast and lunch items through the day.
Egg Club first opened on Dundas Street East in 2020 and has since expanded beyond its original Toronto footprint into locations across the Greater Toronto Area, as well as Ontario and Alberta. Its current lineup includes locations in Toronto, Mississauga, Waterloo, Calgary and Edmonton.
The company is continuing to expand, with Eglinton, Vancouver and another GTA location currently listed as upcoming locations on its website.
An opening date for the MetroCentre Concourse location has not yet been announced.
