Jacksonville is getting a new place to roll the dice, build a deck and meet up with fellow gamers.
Tower of Games is coming to 933 University Blvd. N., where the tabletop gaming retailer is preparing to open its first Jacksonville location. The company’s website currently lists the store as ‘coming soon’ with grand-opening events planned for October 2026.
The new store will cater to trading card and tabletop gamers, offering a place to shop, play and connect with other players. Tower of Games carries new and secondhand games, accessories and collectibles, while also buying cards, miniatures, collectibles and other gaming items.
The company’s event lineup gives a glimpse of what Jacksonville gamers can expect once the doors open. Tower of Games regularly hosts events around games including Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon TCG, Warhammer 40,000, Star Wars: Unlimited, Dungeons & Dragons and board games.
The Jacksonville grand-opening weekend is already taking shape. According to the company’s website, events scheduled for October 30 and 31 include a Friday Night Magic draft, a Warhammer 40,000 event, Pokémon League and Magic: Commander.
The store is being positioned as more than a place to pick up a new game. Tower of Games describes its locations as spaces where players can meet others, participate in regular events and spend time playing in-store.
The company currently operates locations in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Newport News, Virginia, as well as Boca Raton, Florida. Jacksonville will become its second Florida location.
While the company has not posted a specific grand-opening date beyond October, its website is already inviting Jacksonville players to RSVP for the opening events and sign up for updates.
For local tabletop and trading card fans, the wait is nearly over.
