An Alexandria storefront is preparing to shift its focus from the ice you eat to the ice you wear. Gorjana is hoping to open a jewelry store in the former home of Nicecream, bringing locals a new way to accessorize, reports ALXNow.
Gorjana has petitioned Alexandria’s Board of Architectural Review to approve a certificate of appropriateness for a 724 King Street location. The jewelry store will be an interesting pivot for the building which has functioned as a restaurant space for its last two tenants-Nicecream and Falafel Inc. If all necessary approvals are attained, Gorjana will be gaining 870 square feet of shop space.
Gorjana is hoping to make some changes to the storefront-specifically, it is seeking approval to add a canopy and sign, remove tiles, and add metal storefront frames.
Gorjana opened its first location in Laguna Beach in 2004. The shop offers every kind of jewelry a shopper could want.
