A landmark family-owned ice cream shop, Nick Charlap’s Ice Cream, is closing its West Seneca location. The ice cream chain is well-known for its generous portions and mouthwatering flavors.
Nick Charlap’s Set to Close West Seneca Outlet
Nick Charlap’s is a community favorite ice cream chain. The business offers more than 40 flavors of homemade ice cream. The menu focuses on high-quality, heavy, and smooth base recipes. The menu includes flavors such as Cinnamon, Bourbon Praline Pecan and Cotton Candy.
Apart from West Seneca, the chain operates several other locations, including Boston, Angola, Elmwood, Canalside, and Hamburg. The chain also put up pop-up shops at various events around Western New York.
Located at 1203 Union Road in West Seneca, New York, Nick Charlap’s will permanently close its doors. The location’s final day of service will be Wednesday, September 30. The West Seneca store also includes a chocolate shop, called Sweets on the Hill.
In a Facebook post, the ice cream shop team wrote, “It has been a wonderful experience being here, and we have been honored to serve this community!”
They shared that the decision to close was not easy; however, they are excited for the upcoming chapter. In the post, they also mentioned that some furniture and fixtures are up for sale.
Customers React to the Closure
The closure announcement drew a lot of attention on social media. Several customers and community members expressed their disappointment over the closure news.
A customer commented, “Noooooo! I loved this place. They made the best ice cream around. I truly will miss this parlor and the employees that work there.”
Another customer shared a cherished memory and wrote, “My friend and I always looked forward to stopping for ice cream and anything else our sweet tooth demanded. This unique location will surely be missed. Looking forward to your next chapter!”
