A vibrant Mexican restaurant, Margaritas Mexican Cantina in Rochester announced its closure on social media. The announcement comes after the restaurant temporarily closed earlier this summer.
Margaritas Mexican Cantina Closes Rochester Location
Situated near the intersection of West Ridge Road and Long Pond Road in Greece, Margaritas Mexican Cantina is a community favorite dining destination. Known for its casual atmosphere and generous portions, the restaurant serves classic Mexican cuisine and signature margaritas.
The menu includes Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes such as Quesadilla Fiesta, Fried Calamari and Margaritas Fries. Popular items include quesadilla fiesta, fried calamari, and margarita fries.
On September 29, the restaurant announced on social media that its final day at 2525 W. Ridge Road in Greece will be Wednesday, September 30.
In the post, the owner thanked the community and regular customers who “have become like family” for their support. They invited the community to visit one last time before the restaurant permanently closes its doors.
Several customers expressed their disappointment on social media. One of the customers wrote, “Will miss coming here so much. Many good memories. Had my birthday dinner with my besties this year.”

Reason Behind the Closure
According to the RochesterFirst, federal agents conducted an active criminal search at Margaritas Mexican restaurant in June.
The investigation was part of a broader criminal investigation across Western New York by the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Buffalo and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). An official did not share any additional information or details about the investigation.
Following the investigation and raid, the restaurant announced a temporary closure with a social media post. The restaurant later reopened after the summer’s temporary shutdown.
The restaurant team did not share any official reason for its closure. The sudden closure of Margaritas Mexican Cantina will leave a lasting mark on the Rochester dining community.
