A new Japanese dining concept is set to open inside Casa Loma in Toronto at the end of October. According to Toronto Life, Bushido is bringing a high-end dining experience centered around kaiseki to Toronto’s nightlife scene.

The restaurant was conceived by Liberty Entertainment Group CEO Nick Di Donato and Yi-Joo Na, executive sushi chef at Blue Bovine. Bushido’s concept is designed around curiosity and discovery, with no two visits intended to feel the same.

Na will create a menu progression inspired by both kaiseki and omakase, with a focus on seasonality, premium ingredients, and precise preparation.

Di Donato told Toronto Life that Casa Loma’s historic beauty and sense of mystery made it an appropriate setting for Na’s culinary vision.

Rather than remaining in a single dining room throughout the evening, guests will move through different spaces within Casa Loma as the experience unfolds.

Bushido will join Liberty Entertainment Group’s portfolio, which includes Blue Blood, Blue Bovine, Don Alfonso 1890, DaNico, and Powder Room.

Additional details about the menu have not yet been announced. However, Toronto Life notes that Na’s work at Blue Bovine could offer some clues about what diners may encounter, including Hokkaido ingredients, toro, and potentially A5 Wagyu.
