Honestly Good Chicken Fingers, the Toronto-based fast-casual chain known for its hand-breaded chicken fingers, has entered a new joint venture with Serruya Private Equity to fuel international expansion, according to a company announcement reported by Retail Insider.

The deal will support growth across Canada, the United States, Asia, and the Middle East.

“This is a major milestone for Honestly Good and one we have been very deliberate about,” said Stephen Czetyrbok, co-founder and CEO of Honestly Good Chicken Fingers.

Aaron Serruya, managing director of Serruya Private Equity, a family-owned investment firm based in Markham, Ontario, said the firm sees an opportunity to take what has resonated with Ontario customers to new markets.

“We see an opportunity to take what has resonated with customers in Ontario and introduce it to new markets in Canada and around the world,” he said.

The investment comes amid a period of steady growth for the chain, which What Now has tracked closely.

What Now Toronto reported on two new corporate-owned locations planned for Kitchener’s Conestoga Mall and Collingwood, with President and Co-Founder Naomi Kempkes saying the brand continues to field “a tremendous amount of franchise inquiries from across Canada.”

The brand currently operates four restaurants across the Greater Toronto Area, with three more Ontario locations expected to open by early 2027.

Kempkes, who co-founded the brand alongside Czetyrbok in 2020 during the pandemic, was named president in July, a move the company said marked a new chapter as it expands across Canada and the U.S.
