A DC bagel favorite is getting ready to hop its way back into the hearts, minds, and stomachs of local carb enthusiasts. Fans have been eagerly anticipating Bullfrog Bagel’s return to H Street and the beloved eatery is showing signs of life in its upcoming new home, reports local media outlet PoPville.

Construction is under way on Bullfrog’s 1300 H Street, NE storefront. The space will be keeping carbs but switching the medium through which they are delivered; Mozzeria served up its signature pizzas in the building until its closure in late 2024, and indeed, still has signage up.

It is not yet clear when, precisely, Bullfrog will be opening the doors to its new home, however a recent photo shows both a temporary “coming soon” sign and an interior that is still being actively built out. Nevertheless, Bullfrog’s supporters will be delighted to see progress being made on the storefront, as the bagel shop initially announced its H Street relocation late last year.

Devotees of the concept’s H Street home have not had to go cold turkey from their favorite treats since the closure of its previous location there; a food truck has been ensuring customers get their Bullfrog fixes Wednesdays through Sundays.

Bullfrog currently has four storefronts open and operational across the District, located in Foggy Bottom, Union Station, Tastemakers in Brookland, and Eastern Market on Capitol Hill, alongside another food truck servicing Tenleytown.
