An Australian-inspired café and coffee shop is set to caffeinate the Upper East Side
Bluestone Lane, founded by Nicholas Stone, will debut at 1556 2nd Ave.
“Our Yorkville café brings all the unmistakable Aussie charm and coffee culture we’re known for to one of the city’s most loved neighborhoods. With Carl Schurz Park and the East River just a short stroll away, Yorkville has a laid-back, village feel that suits us perfectly,” the website reads.
The first café opened in Midtown in 2013, and the brand has since expanded across Manhattan with locations on Madison Avenue, in Tribeca, Hudson Yards, Chelsea Piers, Battery Park, the Upper West Side and Times Square.
Beyond New York, Bluestone Lane operates locations across Boston, Georgia, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Jersey, Orange County, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Texas, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
The new UES spot will serve Bluestone Lane’s signature coffee and espresso drinks. Smoothie options include the Bondi Blue, made with banana, almond milk, blueberries, vegan cream, protein powder and blue spirulina, while fresh juices include the Portsea, a blend of cucumber, apple, lemon, kale, spinach and ginger root.
The café will pair its drinks with an all-day menu.
“Brekkie” favorites include the famous avocado smash, blueberry or lemon ricotta pancakes and waffles, breakfast burritos, bowls and granola, while lunch offerings range from seasonal wraps and sandwiches to salads and grain bowls.
An official opening date has not yet been announced, however, the website reads: “Coming soon.”
